Group Members in Cinq Loutres

There are 5 members in  Cinq Loutres(Sank Look) group which are Ying Yee, Sebastian Wang, Stella Chew, Edna and including me. Our group name is Cinq Loutres which mean "Holding hands while sleeping to avoid straying apart." I feel lucky that I am one of the member in this group. In this group, the team  know how to tolerate with each other and avoid some conflicts happened. 
These are the roles from my group members (Including myself):

Yee Ying(Content- Research Leader)

Although we are having different roles ,we will help each other when we face problem. I feel that  my team members really did their job well in this group. In this group, I can point out that Ying Yee is really a responsible and good leader. Without her, our team will not be as harmony as always. She knows how to communicate with the team and tolerate with the teams.

At the few months of this installation , Edna not really joining for our group meeting and we are having some problems communicate with her. But , we manage to solve this problems and Edna come to group meeting as well. The team in Cinq Loutres can see the changes from Edna. Therefore, I can conclude that the team members in Cinq Loutres did their job well in this installation and I feel glad to meet and work together in this group. Look forward to cooperate with them next time.

25 August- Live Installation

Today, a real live installation will run in IIS 1 and IIS 2.Our team will have our final presentation and we need to present our installation to the public. At the moment of the preparation,I help my team members to set up for the installation. Then, we are ready for our presentation.

The final feedback that we get from the lecturers is quite good and the team feel satisfied about it.  After that, we are taking class pictures as a memory.

24 August- Final Meeting in IIS 2

Today will be the final meeting for Cinq Loutres team and we will conclude the way how we  exhibit the installation. Therefore, the team decide to match the number of the spirit animal with the number of the four seasons. While waiting the command from the group leader, I am helping Sebastian for her final environment. We also use the blue tape to stick the wire on the mason jars.

After that, I am instructed by the group leader to draw images in Adobe Illustration. 

 

                            Those image will be put inside the production plan.




 

18 August - Installation Testing (Day 6)

Today we are having a group meeting in IIS 2 and we decided to test the final installation once again.

The  lecturers have questioned Group leader(Ying Yee) and Research Leader(Yee Ying) about what are the impacts in our installation. We have given the answers as below:

1) The number of mason jars need to be confirmed and will be reduced if the team cannot make all 10 of them work.

2) Should the environment be set as real environment or silhouette design.

In the meantime, the team need to decide on how to  produce the video that explains about the process of our installation. After the discussion, the team have came out an idea how to record a video. 

Our idea:  We will record the process of the users and their interaction with our installation. One of the team member will guide the users with a speech and explanation about our installation and let the users understand more about this installation. After we decide the idea, I present this idea to Shahnim.

17 August - Installation Testing (Day 5)

Today the team are having group meeting in IIS 2. The final "real environment" have been decided.  I help Sebastian to fix some of the final environment.

After that, I am doing more research for the information of the Native American Animal since the information of this Native American Animal is not enough.Then, I also do some research of the dark and light energy for this installation.

11 August - Installation Presentation (Beta Test)

Today  is the most important day for our team . The team will behaving Beta Test on this day and it will be start at 1pm. Early in the morning, the team come to set up and prepare for the Beta presentation.

Before the team presented the ideas, the lecturers and our senior is given a feedback form. In the feedback form, there is an important question that the team  would  like to know from the user's point of view on how they will feel about our installation. The question is:

"Do you prefer the view of the animals to be in front of the jar or behind the jar inside the mason jar?"
(Meaning, the tracing paper placed in front or behind inside of the jar.)

 Those are the feedback forms that we give to the guests.

I  record the suggestions that given by the lecturers and the guests. After that, the team decide make improvement for this installation.

31 July - Installation Testing (Day 2)

The team had a meeting in IIS2 today. On this day, the team decided to buy more mason jars and make it to 10 jars .The team also  decided to stick the tracing papers inside of the mason jars to make sure that the surface of the tracing papers are smooth, the team also have to make sure that the paper doesn't move.

On this day, I am helping Sebastian to design the environment. Besides that,I also help to take picture for the working process.

14 July - Installation Presentation (Alpha Test)

Today, the team  had a class presentation for the lecturers. I am responsible to record the score and feedback  of the installation that have given based on the marks of other groups and peers.

From the presentation, these are the marks given by the lecturers:
Shanim - 2/5
Jam - 3/5
Jazmi - 4/5
Jia Wern - 3/5

These are some issues that we need to focus on:
1) They are lagging problems when 10 animations are put together resolume arena.
2) Limit the number of the jars
3) The sound should involve something mythical.
4) The "stress" word is too general to explain our installation's intention.

After that, we decided to change the visual concept and try to edit the sound again. But, the team will still remain with the number of the jars as the team  feel that 6 jars have less impact for the  installation.

6,7 July - The making process of the sprite animal

At this two days, we are having a meeting at base room and the team decided to assist Sebastian in the visual department as the workload in the visual department is heavy.

 Each of us will work on two different animal's walking cycles. First, we will do some research for the walking cycle of the animal from website. Then, we will trace the movement of the video frame by frame.After that, we edit the color in Adobe After Effect by frame by frame. At last, the edited color will be mask on the body of the animals.

 

 We are using 2 days to finish this work from design department.

 

2 July - Installation Testing(Day 1)

The team had another meeting to decide the materials that is needed to put inside the mason jars.

After that, the team  went searching for the right materials and buy the materials.

23 Jun - Feedback Comments 2

Today, we presented the draft of production plan. These are the feedback comments from the lecturers. We had a small group meeting today.

Each of the leaders are having a small meeting with the leader from another groups.For my part of content research, I have explained about the content for the installation. But, some of the research leader feel hard to get the points that I presented out.Therefore, Shahnim have suggested  me to think  about the 5W & 1H before start to explain.

22 jun - Disscusion Points

Today, we are having meeting in base room. 


This are the points that we concluded and decided to work on:

1) What is the selling of this installation ?   

2) How many jars should be use in this installation?

3) What kind of area we will testing out?

4) How many combination of sounds should be used in this installation and how will it sound like?

5) What are the possibilities of refraction and reflection in this installation?

 

After that, I need to do more research about the points above.

16 Jun - Feedback Comments 1

For the research wiki, the team will need to find 2 different installations for the case studies. After the research wiki is passed up, the team had a small consultation for the ideas.

12 Jun - Research for idea

Before having this meeting, our group leader have informed us to do research for different kind of installation and environment.  After that, We decided to work on experience based installation as we feel that it will be interesting to work on it. The team have decided to set "magic" as the main theme for the installation.  

Those are the points that we have discussed out when in the meeting.

At first, we thought of an idea that called "Magic in a day".Through this idea, the team  wanted to let the users experience the feeling of having magical powers in the context of a daily life.After that, the team think an idea about Potions and Spells. This idea plan is to let the user experience the chemistry of potions so that the user could feel like a witch/wizard.The team  will create out an environment that was resembling the setting of Harry Potter.

After that, the team  spend a lot of time to think about another idea called Inner Glow.For this idea, the team are taking the inspiration from the spirit animal which name Patronus Charm in Harry Potter series. In the movie of Harry Potter,everyone has a spirit animal within them which also is their inner glow.The team aims to create both a magical and stress relieving installation for the users. The purpose of this installation is to reduce the negative impact of the users.

After that, group leader have give a request to me  for finding the research such as:

-How people can reduce stress?

-What kind of creatures is suitable in this installation？

-What kind of installation is mostly related to the idea that we have decided 

Roles and Responsiblity.

Before deciding about our roles, we are discussing about each of our personality results . In the other words, we  decided to insert some relations from the personality test inside the role that we wanted to work on it.

Therefore,these are my personality results:

Belbin Result
The two strongest role that I get in Belbin Test are Resource Investigator and Team-worker. Meanwhile, the two weakest are Shaper and Monitor Evaluator.

 MBPT Result 
I get INTJ as my result from this test which are introvert, intuition, thinking and judging .INTJ also known as a mastermind.

Since I get Resource Investigator at my Belbin Test, so I decide to become as a content-research leader in this group assignment. I feel this role is suitable for me and it also will be as a challenge for me.As a content-research leader in the groups, these are the responsibility that I should work on it:

• Cementing the Idea and the Concept of the installation.
• Researching materials useful for the Graphic department and Sound department.
• Taking notes of consultation feedback.
